What it does

Lays out your 24 hours from the hours you enter for sleep, work, commuting, meals and more, drawn to scale, with the week and the year for each part.

How to use it

  1. Enter the hours for sleep, work, commuting, meals, chores, TV, phone, exercise and anything else.
  2. Add parts of your own if you like, one per line as a name and hours.
  3. Read the sentence first, then the share of the day, the week and the year for each part.

How it works

Share of the day = hours / 24. Week = hours x 7. Year = hours x 365.

The parts are drawn to scale in one bar. A gap shows time you did not enter, and an overage shows if the parts add up to more than 24 hours.

Sleep 8 hours and work 8 hours leave 8 hours of the 24.

Formulas and details
  • Share = hours / 24 x 100.
  • Hours a year = daily hours x 365.

Assumptions

  • The hours are your estimates of an average day.
  • Overlapping activities (a podcast while commuting) are counted by you: the page cannot split them.
  • Everything you type stays in this page. Nothing is sent or saved.

Example

Input: The starting values already in the form

Result: You accounted for all 24 hours. The biggest parts are sleep (8 hours) and work or school (8 hours).

Questions

What if my parts add up to more than 24?

The page shows the overage so you can adjust. Some activities overlap, such as meals and TV.

Does it save my day?

No. Nothing is saved or sent.
