One Click Answers

Editorial and accuracy policy

One Click Answers is a set of free tools, short answers and guides. This page explains how each is made and kept accurate, so you can judge how far to rely on it.

How a tool is chosen

A tool is added only when it answers a real, specific question better than a bare formula would: it explains what the result means, shows the assumptions, or answers the likely next question. Near-duplicate pages are merged instead of published, and a tool that is not ready is not linked, listed or placed in the sitemap.

How a result is checked

  • Calculations live in one tested code module, not inside the page.
  • Expected values in the tests are worked out by hand or by a separate script, never by the code being tested.
  • Tools that touch money, such as loans, mortgages, tax, investment and retirement, are not published until their formulas have been verified against known answers and edge cases, and they state their assumptions and a disclaimer.
  • Each tool page shows how the answer is calculated and the assumptions behind it. See How our tools work.

Answers and guides

Answers and guides are written to be read in plain English. Where a page gives numbers, they come from the tool it links to or from a source named on Data sources and licenses. Pages show the date they were last reviewed or updated. We do not use made-up authors, reviews, ratings or statistics.

What our results are not

Results are estimates based on what you enter. They are not financial, tax, legal or medical advice. Read the Disclaimer and the Terms of Use.

Privacy

Tools run in your browser wherever that is practical, and we only say an input stays on your device when that has been checked. See the Privacy Policy.

Keeping pages up to date

Pages are reviewed when the facts they rely on change, when a visitor reports a problem, or when a test fails. A page that no longer meets this policy is corrected or removed from the site.

Report a mistake

If a result looks wrong, email contact@oneclickanswers.com with the tool name and the values you entered. We check every report, fix confirmed errors, and update the page's date.
