Enter two weights to see how much the number changed.

About this tool & how to use it

What it does

Shows how much a weight changed as an amount, a percent and an average per week, in neutral words whether it went up or down.

How to use it

  1. Enter the starting weight and the current weight, and choose pounds or kilograms.
  2. Add the days between the two to see a weekly average.
  3. Read the change first, then the percent and the average per week.

How it works

Change = current - starting. Percent = change / starting x 100. Per week = change / days x 7.

From 180 to 172 pounds is 8 pounds down, 4.4%. Over 56 days that is 1 pound a week.

The percent is figured with the same percentage engine as the Percentage Calculator.

Formulas and details
  • Change = current - starting.
  • Percent = change / starting x 100.
  • Per week = change / days x 7.

Assumptions

  • The weights and days are yours.
  • The wording is the same in both directions. The page never says whether to gain or lose.
  • Everything you type stays in this page. Nothing is sent or saved.

Example

Input: The starting values already in the form

Result: The number is down 8 pounds (4.4%) from where it started. Over 56 days that averages 1.00 lb a week down.

Questions

What is a good rate of change?

The page does not say. It reports the arithmetic of your numbers. A doctor can speak to what is right for a person.

Does it track my weight?

No. For several weigh-ins in one list, use the Weight Trend Tracker. Neither saves anything.
