Everything is calculated in your browser: the prices and numbers you enter are never sent anywhere or stored. We do not know any store's prices or tax rates, and these results are arithmetic, not advice to buy.

How it works

Cost per year = cost / years. A $300 repair that lasts 2 years is $150 a year; an $800 replacement that lasts 8 years is $100 a year.

Replacing costs $50 a year less under these numbers. An extra yearly running cost can be added to the repaired one.

Assumptions

  • The years are your own expectation: this page does not know how reliable either choice will be.
  • It compares cost only and does not say what to do.

Example

Input: The starting values already in the form

Result: Under your numbers, replacing costs about $50.00 less per year.
