About this tool & how to use it

What it does

Finds the cost per load of laundry or dishwasher detergent and compares two products.

  2. Enter the number of loads on the package, or your own count.
  3. Optionally enter a second product to compare.

One click answer

Your answer will appear here.

Fill in the form and your answer will appear here.

Everything is calculated in your browser: the prices and numbers you enter are never sent anywhere or stored. We do not know any store's prices or tax rates, and these results are arithmetic, not advice to buy.

How it works

Cost per load = price / loads: $19.99 / 64 loads is 31.2 cents a load.

With a second product, the one with the lower cost per load is named.

Assumptions

  • The loads are the ones on the package or your own: this page does not check a manufacturer's claim.
  • How much you use per load changes the real cost.

Example

Input: The starting values already in the form

Result: This laundry detergent costs about 31.2 cents a load.

Questions

How do I work out the cost per load?

Divide the price by the number of loads.

Can I compare dishwasher pods?

Yes: choose dishwasher detergent and enter the pods as loads.
