Caffeine Tracker

How much caffeine have I had today?

List the drinks you had and their caffeine to see the total.

About this tool & how to use it

What it does

Adds up the caffeine in the drinks you list and shows the total beside the FDA figure of 400 mg a day for most healthy adults. Nothing is saved.

How to use it

  1. Enter one item per line: the item, its caffeine in mg, the quantity and the time (the last two are optional).
  2. Check the caffeine against the label of your drink, or the FDA range shown on the page.
  3. Read the total first, then each item.

Use the caffeine amount from the label or the maker. These are example numbers: replace them. Nothing is saved, and no amount is looked up or guessed.

How it works

Total = sum of (caffeine per item x quantity).

The FDA (page read 2026-10-04) cites 400 mg a day as an amount not generally associated with negative effects in most healthy adults. The page shows it as a reference.

The FDA ranges per 12 fl oz (coffee 113 to 247 mg, black tea 71 mg, green tea 37 mg, soft drink 23 to 83 mg) are listed so you can check your numbers.

Formulas and details
  • Total mg = sum of caffeine per item x quantity.

Assumptions

  • The caffeine per item is the figure you enter. The page does not know what is in your cup.
  • The 400 mg figure is for most healthy adults and not a personal limit. A doctor can say what suits you.
  • Everything you type stays in this page. Nothing is sent or saved.

Example

Input: The starting values already in the form

Result: You entered 340 mg of caffeine across 2 items. The times you gave run from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
