Everything is calculated in your browser: the prices and numbers you enter are never sent anywhere or stored. We do not know any store's prices or tax rates, and these results are arithmetic, not advice to buy.

How it works

Plan cost = fixed fee + units x rate. They are equal at units = (fee A - fee B) / (rate B - rate A).

$10 + $0.05 a unit against $0 + $0.15 a unit meet at 10 / 0.10 = 100 units, where both cost $15.00.

Assumptions

  • Real plans may have caps, tiers or limits that are not in these numbers.
  • One plan can be cheaper at every amount: the page says so.

Example

Input: The starting values already in the form

Result: The plans cost the same at about 100 units. Below that, Plan B costs less; above it, Plan A does.

Questions

How many uses until the membership pays off?

Enter the fee as plan A's fixed fee and the saving as the difference in rates.

What if the plans never cross?

Then one is cheaper at every amount of use, and the page says which.
