How we calculated this
Tip = bill × tip percentage. Total = bill + tip. Each person pays the total divided by the number of people.
Amounts are worked out in cents and rounded to the nearest cent, so you never see floating-point leftovers. Per-person amounts are rounded individually, which can leave the party a cent or two off the exact total; the tape says so when that happens.
Tip is calculated on the bill you enter. If your bill already includes tax and you want to tip on the pre-tax amount, enter the pre-tax figure.
