How to Use the Resume Job Match
The Simple Answer
Resume Job Match compares your resume with a job description and shows what matches, what is not clearly in your resume, the job's keywords, and wording ideas for experience you already have.
What the tool does
The tool gives an AI model your resume text and the job description and asks for seven parts: an overall match level with a reason, strong matches, skills not clearly found in your resume, the job's keywords, wording improvements, interview preparation topics, and questions to ask. The model works only from the two texts. It is told never to invent a skill, employer, title, date, accomplishment, number, degree or certification.
How to use it
- Paste your resume as plain text. Leave out your name, address, phone number and email, because they are not needed.
- Paste the job description.
- Add the job title if you like, then press Compare to the Job.
- Read the seven parts, then change your resume only where the change is true.
A worked example
The overall match is a level (Strong, Partial or Limited) with a reason, not a percentage. If the job asks for project scheduling and your resume says you coordinated team deadlines, the wording section may suggest describing that experience in the job's own terms. If a skill is under Not clearly found, that means the text does not clearly say it. It may be there in other words, or missing, and only you know which.
Things to know
- This is an analysis of the two texts you pasted. It is not how any employer or hiring system reads a resume.
- Do not paste unnecessary sensitive data such as a Social Security number, date of birth, full address or bank details.
- What you paste goes to an AI service and is not stored on this site.
- An AI model can be wrong. Check the results against your own experience.
Common questions
Will it add skills I do not have? No. It is told to suggest wording only for experience your resume already describes.
Is the match level a score employers see? No. It is only this tool's reading of the two texts.
